Today (23rd November 2022), after applying a Windows update, I started a VM that I regularly run for development, and received this error:
Failed to restore with Error: ‘The computed authentication tag did not match the input authentication tag.’
Sadly, there was very little information online, however, I did find one article where the guy essentially re-created the VM. In the end, this was my solution, too.
When you create a new VM, you can very easily add an existing HDD, and so the process was relatively painless.
